A prickly start to a Thursday!

The staff were shocked to find a scorpion in the office on Thursday morning. The little creature was happily sitting by a filing cabinet when discovered. We put a glass over him to trap him and immediately called the SSPCA. The Officers came to the office and told us that he could perhaps be an escaped pet. It is understood that the smaller the scorpion the more deadly its poison is. We were advised to keep the staff dogs, Jen and Henry away from him. He was taken to the Edinburgh Butterfly and Insect World, it is unknown what species he is as he is believed to still be young, it is hoped that in a month or so they may be able to identify what kind of scorpion he is.

Our thanks go to the SSPCA and the Edinburgh Butterfly and Insect World for all their help.

If you think he is your lost pet you can contact the SSPCA on 03000 999 999.
