Oscar is a lovely, but nervous, young Frenchie looking for a new home where all his needs can be met.

Oscar cannot be left alone at home as he has separation anxiety and will bark. For this reason he cannot be rehomed to a flat. His new home must have Frenchie or Boston Terrier experience. Oscar suffers from anxiety and takes medication for it. The Society would help towards the cost for this under our Food and Veterinary Treatment Fund, see below.*  His medication is still being worked on and his new owner(s) would need to discuss this further with a vet.

Oscar needs a garden in his new home to have freedom and relax. Oscar would be happy to learn more tricks and training – his confidence needs building and he has a lot of energy with which these activities would help on more than one level.

Oscar loves people and will get very excited with visitors. He is very bouncy so care would need to be given. This is also why it would be ideal if Oscar lives in an adult-only home as he has a lot of energy which needs to be controlled. His jumping has been worked on and he has improved but it needs further work. Younger visitors such as teenagers could be fine.

Oscar is a little nervous of being in new cars, but he can be okay travelling if it’s not for too long.

Oscar was not socialised well as a puppy and he can overreact when meeting dogs by lunging at their faces to play – he requires further training to learn boundaries. He tends to be easily distracted by small animals such as squirrels when out on walks so he has always been kept on the lead. This is why a secure garden at home would be great for Oscar to play freely.

Oscar is calm at home and loves to lie in the sun all day. He has bursts of energy when he will want to play with you with his toys or run around but he also loves to snuggle under a blanket. He enjoys playing hide and seek with treats or toys and sniffing about on walks. He would definitely benefit from more activities to do work his brain.

Oscar is a very sweet boy with some quirks. He is looking for a home where he would have company for most of the day, where he can snuggle up and relax but also have some fun with training. If you think you’re the ideal home for Oscar, please apply above.

*FOOD AND VETERIENARY TREATMENT FUND: This fund allows the Society to cover costs of pre-existing conditions once a dog has been re-homed. This means we will cover costs for vet treatment if the dog has a condition before it comes to stay with you. In this case we will covers costs relating to Oscar’s anxiety treatment, within reason.
