Alvie is an un-neutered male.
Alvie is uncomfortable being around younger children. We are looking for an adult only home for him.
Live With Dogs:
Alvie could live with a well mannered female dog.
Live With Cats:
Alvie is a handsome boy who is looking for a new home where his owners are experienced with Border Collies and understand the breed.
Alvie would love to have company during the day as this is what he is currently used to, however he is happy to be left for a couple of hours at a time if you were to go to the shops, for example. Alvie is fully house trained. He isn’t destructive when left with any household items, he only likes to destroy the odd toy. Alvie isn’t keen on travelling however he will get in the car and will sit quietly. Short and positive journeys may help to build his confidence with travelling. Alvie does pull when walking on a lead and he is scared of his harness. With some positive training his walking on a lead should improve over time. He has a selective recall when off-lead so we would advise that he continues training with this before he is allowed off the lead.
Alvie is okay with most dogs and will usually lie down and wait until he can say hello to the other dog. He sometimes will want to play with the dogs too. He isn’t keen on puppies or dogs with flat faces such as Pugs and may bark. He could live with a well mannered female dog. He can be unsure of strangers but will warm up to them once introduced properly.
Alvie also does not like loud noises so he would prefer that his new home is not by a main road and is secluded from busy areas.
Alvie is very clever and is a quick learner. He knows a variety of tricks and has previously done some agility training. He really enjoyed agility and possibly would love to continue to do this in his new home. Alvie will need a committed owner who will be passionate about agility and continue with his training in his new home. This will help keep Alvie mentally stimulated, use up some of his Border Collie energy and keep him happy. Alvie is a very lovable boy, he is full of personality and he would make a great companion to an experienced Border Collie owner.
