Dog Aid Society Of Scotland

Since 1956 the Dog Aid Society of Scotland has been providing support and assistance for families who face the difficult decision to re-home their much loved pets. Please note that the Society does not have kennel facilities so owners are asked to hold on to their dog until a new home is found.
The main aim of the Society is to re-home dogs, however the Society also has a Neutering Scheme and a Veterinary Aid Scheme for owners on a low income.

The Neutering scheme enables dog owners who are on benefits to have their dog neutered at a reduced cost. The Society is currently providing £50 vouchers to eligible applicants.

Our Veterinary aid scheme is open to those who are suffering financial hardship and have been l
eft with an unexpected vet bill they are finding difficult to pay. As with the Neutering scheme,
to qualify you must provide us with proof of benefits. (Child and Working tax credit does not apply. Only the highest rate of disability living allowance will be accepted.)

If you would like to apply for either of these schemes please click on the links below. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to call us on 0131 668 3633

At DASS we also offer behaviour advice, which can help you and your dog have a happy life together.

If you are having problems with your dog, such as destructiveness, barking or growling, you don't have to give him/her up. By  re-homing him/her you may just be passing the problem onto somebody else. We can offer you effective advice to help with any behaviour problems, so your dog can remain a part of your family.

Our advice is never a quick fix, it takes time and love to iron out behavioural problems, but it can be done!
