1 and a half years old
Gael is looking for an adult only home.
Live With Dogs:
Gael could live with a friendly and well mannered dog.
Live With Cats:
Gael is a 1 and a half year old Border Collie looking for a very special home. She is very anxious and nervous and finds the outside world a scary place. She would prefer to live in the quiet countryside away from the hustle and bustle of a busy village or town. Her new owner must be experienced with Border Collies and in particular dogs that have an anxious nature.
Gael is a sweet little girl who has the potential to be a cracking dog. Gael is friendly with people, however at first she can be a little wary of people. Once she gets to know you she can be very excited when she sees you. Gael has never lived with children and due to her timid nature we are looking for an adult only home for her. Gael currently lives with another dog and gets on well with the dog. Gael is generally very good with other dogs and wants to play with them but on her terms. She could happily live with a confident well mannered dog. Unfortunately she is not suitable to live with cats.
Gael does suffer from separation anxiety and does cry a little when left alone. She will need further training to help slowly build her confidence up when being left. As Gael is still quite young she can still be a bit destructive within the house, even when you are there. Further training can help this. Gael has not had any experience in the car so we are unsure if she would be travel sick, so time should be spent getting her used to the car to help build a positive association with it. Gael does pull when walking on a lead and does not have a good recall. Even though Gael is worried about outside she has been going for walks, however we would advise that in her new home she goes for walks at her own pace and for her new owner to help build her confidence on the walks.
Despite Gael being worried about the outside world, she is very loving and affectionate. She enjoys playing with her toys and her favourite thing is having her belly rubbed. Gael is very intelligent and would enjoy learning new things such as tricks. This would help build her confidence and also keep her mentally stimulated.
